Sprawling 800 acres, Sunway City Kuala Lumpur is Malaysia’s first fully-integrated green township as certified by Green Building Index, and the nation’s first smart sustainable low-carbon city by Malaysia’s Ministry of Environment and Water. Built on a tin-mining wasteland, Sunway City Kuala Lumpur is a successful product of outstanding rehabilitation and restoration efforts with a built-up area of more than 60 million square feet comprising world-class facilities, and attracts some 42 million visits every year. Seamlessly connected to all the city’s hotspots within 15 minutes, the township encompasses an enviable portfolio of more than 11,000 residential and commercial units, in addition to the multi award-winning hospitality, retail, leisure, offices, healthcare and education components. As a safe city, the township operates under 24/7 close-circuit TV surveillance and is patrolled by auxiliary personnel around-the-clock. Today, Sunway City Kuala Lumpur remains one of Southeast Asia’s premier tourist destinations.

In line with Malaysia’s goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, Sunway is doing their part in promoting sustainable development and making a positive impact through its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Between now and 2030, all our efforts will be focused on minimising residual emissions through energy-efficient operations. To combat climate change and its impact, Sunway has developed the first of its kind carbon pricing framework in Malaysia to reach net zero carbon by 2050.

At the level of Sunway Malls, we endeavour to do our part through our “Together For Good” campaign, worth a focus on six long term initiatives to raise sustainability awareness, advocacy and adaptation. Sunway Malls is the FIRST amongst malls in Malaysia to incorporate a green clause as part of our Green Lease in effort to encourage businesses to adopt sustainable practices.
